2016年的寒冬不仅仅是气象意义上的，对于各大零售实体店来说，也是销售寒冬。上周，世界最大零售商沃尔玛宣布，从1月末开始，他们将在全球关闭269家门店，仅在美国就要关闭154家。其中，在美国关闭的门店多是小型的沃尔玛快捷门店(Wal-Mart Express）。这些快捷门店大多开在小镇上。规模和占地面积并不大。
沃尔玛CEO Doug McMillon表示，这次关闭的门店数目仅占沃尔玛全球所有门店的2.32%。受到影响的营业面积和销售额仅占全球总数的1%。 对于沃尔玛来说，影响非常小。
