美国六大银行对消费类别（merchant category codes）如何分类？

不同银行对不同类别消费有不同的定义和区别。对于不同的商家他们会定义一个商家消费类别码（merchant category codes），简称MCC。当我们在刷卡消费的时候，如果要获得多倍返现或者返点，常常就要注意刷不同的卡。另外，本文所涉及的信用卡只限于提供指定类别的相关银行信用卡。诸如Chase Freedom Unlimited、Citi Double Cash、Discover it Miles这类提供所有类别相同返现（点）类别的信用卡不列入在以下列表之类。

另外，如果你在一个酒店内部的饭馆消费，可能你刷卡的消费类别显示的是酒店（Hotel）而不是饭馆（dining）。

以下是目前美国六大主流银行（BoA、Chase、Discover、Capital One、Citi、AmEx）对于不同MCC的消费类别一览表，方便大家查询。主要涉及旅行（travel）、饭馆（dining）、菜店（groceries）、加油站（gas station）、流媒体服务（streaming services ）、娱乐（entertainment）六大类别。

美国运通 [AmEx]

旅行（Travel）

American Express Green Card卡可以在以下所有类别获得多倍积分。

  • 在航司以及amextravel.com购买机票 airfare booked directly with airlines or on amextravel.com
  • 在amextravel.com订房 Prepaid hotels booked on amextravel.com
  • 仅限American Express Green Card卡持有者 ：预订私人飞机 Airfare for a scheduled flight on a passenger carrier, chartered flights and private jet flights (American Express® Green Card only)

American Express Gold Card：在航司或者amextravel.com订票获得3X积分。

The Platinum Card from American Express: 在航司或者amextravel.com订票获得5X积分。

American Express Green Card：在部分旅行类别获得3X积分。

American Express Blue Cash Preferred (BCP)：3%返现类别交通（包括打车、Uber/Lyft、停车、收费公路、火车、公交等，但不包括机票和租车）。

饭馆（Dining）

  • 美国境内饭馆Restaurants located in the U.S.
  • 全球饭馆（取决于你的信用卡） Restaurants located worldwide (depending on the card you have).

以下消费不属于饭馆

  • 全球饭馆 （取决于你的信用卡）Restaurants located worldwide (depending on the card you have)
  • 酒吧、夜店、便利店、卖场、超市、部分咖啡馆、食堂、电影院、酒庄、面包店 Bars, nightclubs, convenience stores, supermarkets, grocery stores, cafeterias, caterers, theatre clubs, breweries, bakeries and meeting venues
  • 在酒店、赌场以及其他场所中的饭馆可能被识别为酒店（hotel）类别而不是饭馆（dining）类别You may not earn additional rewards at a restaurant located within another establishment (a restaurant inside a hotel, casino or event venue).

菜店（Groceries）

  • 菜店定义，当然最好懂的是，如果这件点卖家用电器，一般就不是菜店。A supermarket offers a wide variety of food and household products such as meat, fresh produce, dairy, canned and packaged goods, household cleaners, pharmacy products and pet supplies
  • 必须在美国境内 Must be located in the U.S.

以下消费不属于菜店

  • 便利店以及其他特色商店（鱼市、奶酪店、酒精产品商店等等）Convenience stores and specialty stores (like fish markets, cheese shops, wine shops, and other specialty food stores)

  • 加油站定义：加油站可以有便利店，但是主要提供的服务是加油。A gas station is defined as a merchant that is in the primary business of selling gasoline to consumers. Gas stations may sell other convenience items, but its primary business must be selling gasoline to consumers
  • 必须在美国境内 Must be located in the U.S.

以下消费不属于加油：

  • 部分提供加油服务的超级商店以及仓储式超市（比如塔吉特、开市客）Superstores, supermarkets, and warehouse clubs that sell gasoline (like Target and Costco)

以下消费不属于饭馆

  • 在体育场、主题公园、酒店、赌场、菜店、百货公司内售卖餐食的场所。不过比如美食广场（food plaza）或者连锁餐饮集团的餐馆常常属于饭馆类别。Merchants that sell food and drinks located within facilities such as sports stadiums, hotels and casinos, theme parks, grocery and department stores will not be included in this category unless the merchant has set up such purchases to be classified in a restaurant category
  • 面包店以及提供送餐服务的公司。Bakeries, caterers, gift card and delivery service merchants will not be included in this category unless the merchant has set up such purchases to be classified in the restaurant category

  • 加油站定义：Merchants in the gas stations category sell automotive gasoline that can be paid for either at the pump or inside the station, and may or may not sell other goods or services at their location

  • 除汽车加油以外均不算加油类别。 Merchants that do not specialize in selling automotive gasoline are not included in this category; for example, truck stops, boat marinas, oil and propane distributors and home heating companies
